What Makes Robot Cars tick?

Coming against the backdrop of the news that Stanford university's robot car had passed a driving test for the upcoming DARPA Urban Challenge, many people would be wondering what's making these robot cars tick? Here is a Google Tech Talk from last year which explains the basic technologies in an entertaining manner.
