Yahoo! Mail Beta does not support Firefox 2.0 anymore
This is been happening since early morning. I've been using Yahoo! Mail Beta on Firefox 2.0 since Firefox 2.0 came out. However since early morning I can not access my mail account anymore because Yahoo! Mail redirects to a page, which states
"Sorry, Yahoo! Mail Beta does not support your browser.
You can either download a compatible browser or proceed to the original Yahoo! Mail."
I've tested using 1.5.0.9, and it does work in it. Anyone else with similar experience?

There was a bug in our browser detection code that caused us to put up the wrong page for Firefox 2.0.0.0 users. What you should have gotten is a page telling you to upgrade to Firefox 2.0.0.1 because of a serious security issue. We’ve been rolling out a fix to this, but in the meantime, upgrading to Firefox 2.0.0.1 will not only fix this problem for you, but it’ll also make your browsing a little safer.

I have beta with firefox and don’t want it but cannot find anywhere to revert back to original
February 26th, 2007 - 19:40
I was pushed to upgrade Firefox to 2.0.0.2 on Friday. I never had trouble accessing my Yahoo Mail beta before. Today I cannot login, I do not get a message allowing me to revert to regular Yahoo Mail and I can’t even get into it through IE 6.0! I am really frustrated. Is anyone else having trouble with Firefox 2.0.0.2?
February 28th, 2007 - 00:06
Now Firefox 2.0.0.2 does not allow to paste into a Yahoo Mail window on a Mac. Copy works fine, but Command-V does not and the Edit-Paste command is greyed out.

Yes..I have a problem and it’s driving me insane. I updated to whatever version of Firefox I was prompted to upgrade to last week and for the last 3 days I can’t log in to yahoo (UK) beta version. It has the guy with the drums and nada….

Upgraded to Firefox 2.0 yesterday morning, tried to check mail and had to revert to original version of Yahoo mail: Very irritating!

i don’t know about anyone else but for me, ever since i have upgraded to v2 for firefox, i have been having display issues w/ Yahoo. After i log into my account, everything seems normal and i can browse through the features just fine but when ever i want to actually read my emails, i just get a blank message with nothing. i thought maybe it was something my NoScript but i enabled everything; i know ballsy but i still did and no fix.
Anyone else have this issue or does anyone know of a remedy that i might have over looked.
Thanks and stay safe!!!

Same issue as Jae. Problem seems to be with yahoo and isnt just specific to firefox. Problem also with ie. I have tried going via http://www.yahoo.com and http://www.yahoo.co.nz and have issues with both where I get blank body text messages and the screen displays are all over the place.
I think that its been like this for a couple of days

I’m getting the old-style Yahoo Mail webpage using Firefox 2.0.0.2 on two different PCs. I get Beta fine on the Mac though.
This has left me very close to ditching Yahoo Mail, it isn’t reliable enough at sending emails, and now it just doesn’t work at all.

I have the same problem, from january, I can not access my mail account anymore, i installed Firefox 2.0.0.2 and nothing happened.
March 11th, 2007 - 19:42
I tried logging into Yahoo mail today with Firefox 2.0.0.2 but I get a connection refused message. I tried with IE6 and same thing. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING??? I can’t even revert back to the original mail if I want to check my mail! Hey Ryan Kennedy from Yahoo! What is happening? And why me?
March 11th, 2007 - 20:14
jp, the same problem in Vista, IE 7 + FF 2… Help!!!
March 11th, 2007 - 22:03
Having the same problem with Windows XP and Firefox 2.0.0.2. When I try to get to anything yahoo mail… either via, mail.yahoo.com or any links. I get re-routed to this address http://us.f523.mail.yahoo.com/ym/ShowLetter?MsgId=1370_12266112_94776_1481_14631_0_21546_72771_3231137335&Idx=1&YY=2597&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&inc=25&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&view=&head=&box=Inbox
which gives me a connection refused, same thing happens with IE 7. Is Yahoo Mail down???

I can’t get to the Mail Beta with FireFox 2.0.0.2 for Windows, either. I’m running XP Home, SP2, fully patched. Funny message it displays, telling me to “upgrade” to 2.0.0.1.

Hi every body, i had the same problem and i tried removing my firefox profile and now all is ok, try that close your firefox and go to:
(En espaƱol)
C:\Documents and Settings\\Datos de programa\Mozilla
(In English)
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla
and rename the folder “Firefox”, and after that run Firefox, try loggin your yahoo mail beta.

I also have noticed in the past week that my FireFox, updated version 2.0.0.3 does not work properly with Yahoo Beta. Internet Explorer works fine. I can not configure the window to resize it. Basically all the features that have drawn me to the Beta, Drag and Drop, “Outlook”-Like mailbox, folders etc..are not really working.
I just add this as I hope more hits on Google lead folks with more knowlege to interface with both Mozilla and the Yahoo Beta team. I will also be in touch with those folks.
Beta has always been a little clunky–not fully smooth in dragging. The new Firefox just isn’t compatible. Again I’m on 2.0.0.3. All I can say is it worked fine in February and January. My Firefox rolls itself forward when requested.
Regards.

Solution:
In English)
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla
TK’s solution, listed prior to my two postings, worked but added some wrinkles! I renamed my folder Firefox, reopened firefox and Yahoo Beta works with Firefox the way it used to.
One word of Caution, after renaming, the Firefox configuration menu came on asking if I wanted to import all my internet explorer bookmarks. I said no of course. This was not listed in TK’s solution, so just be aware this “could” happen. I need to rebuild my bookmarks. Also after TK’s solution, I now have a firefox folder and a Mozilla folder. What’s up with thtat?

i have just started using firefox today. i don’t have a problem signing in to yahoo beta, but if i try to send a mail, it just sticks on the ’sending message…’ page, with the little rotating arrows still rotating (ie. its not frozen).
any ideas?
i must admit that i haven’t tried renaming folders yet, but since this seems a slightly different problem…
cheers

Having the same problem as Mantian. Yahoo mail hangs at send with the arrows rotating, will go on for hours.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks,

Same problem here, with Firefox 2.0.0.3 for XP. IE 7 and Firefox for Mac work fine. Please post if you have found any solution.

It appears, at least the 2 different machines I have (xp media center and xp Pro) that the problem is related to Adblock plus. If I disable adblock plus I can send mail no problem, with it on however I get the hung send window. If anyone has any good ideas on a workaround for this to keep using adblock plus I would like to hear it. Also, are there any good alternatives to adblock plus?

I’m having a bit of an odd problem with Firefox 2.0. Ever since I upgraded, clicking on a link in an e-mail no longer opens another tab/window. Instead, it just opens in the same tab/window. I’m so used to the new window thing that I forget and close out of Yahoo Mail by mistake. ARRGHH!
Anyone know of a workaround for this?

If anyone else is having the send window hanging problem I mentioned earlier, from my understanding it is a problem with the adblock filters. Simply do an update and it will work. This solved my problem on 3 different machines (2 XP Pro and 1 XP Media center)
Check the Adblock/Adblock Plus website for more information
Good luck,
Zack
@ SAM: You should get the tab mix plus extension, it allows you amazing control over the behavior of tabs, windows and how the open/close.

Actually, I do have the Tab Mix Plus extension, and it’s not helping. Perhaps this is only an issue on Macs? I haven’t upgraded my Windows to 2.x yet, but I’ll do that now to test.

Yahoo mail beta doesnt work with firefox 2.0
but it works with latest update 2.0.0.3
April 12th, 2007 - 05:20
It seems that only Firefox 2.0 has a problem with Yahoo! Mail Beta, all other version work fine.
I use 2.0.0.3, and face no problems
April 14th, 2007 - 15:44
Just wanted to note… oddities of oddities… removing Tab Mix Plus fixed my issue with links in Yahoo Mail Beta. Go figure…
Oh… and I also have 2.0.0.3, other than the above issue, I haven’t had a problem at all.

I had a similar issue with Firefox 2.0.0.3 and Yahoo Mail Beta. When I try to reply to an email, it would not work and I would get a screen like I am composing the message from scratch.
Figured the issue was related to Adblock Plus. Just disabled it for Yahoo Mail and everything works great now. Thanks to one of the posters here who gave the idea.

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.3 with Yahoo Mail Beta. I accidentally resized the left frame (that lists the mailboxes and folders) to half the width of the window and now I can’t get it to go back to its original size. Any ideas?

Laura -
I had this problem too. To fix it, you need to clear you cache. Go to Tools-Options, click on Privacy and click on CLEAR NOW at the bottom. Also, go to Tools-Clear Private Data.
Now restart Firefox and it should be back to normal.
And don’t resize the frame again!!

I have been running yahoo mail beta on firefox 2 and it has worked fine until the latest security upgrade of firefox to 2.0.0.4. Now I receive the “Unsupported Browser” error. I have tried the fix suggested by Eric (above) and cleared the private data, then restarted FF. But still doesn’t work. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

Eric – thx a lot about the hint to clear the browser’s cache
I have been experiencing a problem with the visualization of the toolbar in the Inbox tab. There were two rows that were appearing and a refresh was automatically done and that all took 3-4 seconds to complete every time I start Firefox (2.0.0.4). I guess in the process of updating the browser and the mail client something went wrong and it was saved in the cache.
thx again Eric for the quick fix

All of a sudden I could not use Mail Beta with Firefox 2.0.0.4 just a few minutes ago I’ve been updated to 2.0.0.6 and it works (at least for now) just fine.
However I have repeatedly tried to get rid of the Google toolbar (doing an uninstall) but the damned thing keeps reinstalling itself. Any ideas?
