Never host with Serversea!
Earlier this year, we were looking for a hosting service, where we could host our website, one of my collegues, Shuaib Khan, recommended to us to host with Serversea, because they provided good service and were cheap, just $30 per annum! We went for it, but now we realize that this was a mistake! Serversea advertises 99% availability, however to be honest this figure is closer to 30%. Just now I was updating our website, and the domain went down!! I'm an incredibly busy person and I don't get much time to do stuff like website updates etc. But when I do get the time, the domain is down!!!! The Serversea setup is riddled with problems: Just when we started, the mailing lists won't work! then the archives were not being created, there were problems with authentication later on. Once the mails from the serversea server were blocked because of spam originating from their networks, which put us in an awkward position, as we could not interact with our international collaborators.
So just to say summarize it all: avoid ServerSea, the money you will save will be compensated with your time, so just go for a better hosting service!

It indeed was a mistake, but we found that out only after going for their hosting package.
I recommended it because I had used their service for hosting a personal homepage of mine. I hadn’t had any problems with their service because my site only consisted of few static pages and nothing more. On the other hand, our project’s homepage had to deal with mailing lists, wiki, sub-domain names and other such stuff and it was only after having a hand on experience with their service that we figured out how a poor service they offer.
But I agree, ServerSea has a lot to improve.
P.S. You have linked my name to a non-existing website in the post.
I have a new weblog now, and I’ll disclose it later.

Hello!
I registered my website on serversea about three months ago. A used a drupal (a popular and excellent CMS). Now they have permanently disabled my account on account of “CPU Abuse” caused due to scripts. That’s all the explanation I can get from them! They didn’t even give me a single warning! They also have a pathetic customer support. So any suggestions for my future host?
Cheers!

I’ve tested BlueHost, and I’m simply amazed by their service, I badly recommend it.
blueHost doesn’t just offer what normal providers offer, they also offer GBs of storage space, and 50 GB bandwidth/monthly.
Additionally the best think I like about them, is that they offer, SSH access to the server, so that you can remotely access the machine and do some desired configurations.

Hello Irfan!
Thank you for your suggestion. I have seen the specs, BlueHost seems really great, but I was looking for an affordable host. My budget is under $5. I was searching web and found GoDaddy, they have pretty basic features offered at reasonable price. They don’t have a good customer support. I am thinking of trying out their economy linux plan 2 months ($3.99 per month) hosting package and see what happens.

Wish I had read these posts before I tried Serversea. For us, webmail has ceased to work and support is nonexistent. So we have have lost all mails that are stored on the server as we can’t access it. And our website is inoperable now. We prepaid a year, totally lost of course. No to speak of all the job it took to adapt our code to the specific conditions of that host (outdated drivers etc). Beware!!

I upload my site using zen cart, its running fine for 2 months after that they suspend my account that your site is destroy our servers & all memory consumed by your website. They never gave me any proof of memory consumption or dump script.
What the hell this company is.
Never register or recommend anyone to SERVER SEA.
A shameless Web hosting & registration company in Pakistan.
